500 ## - GENERAL NOTE
General note Reference https://www.bishopsgate.org.uk/collections/diaspora:

The Diaspora Collective was formed in London in July 1993 by '18 women of very different backgrounds, what we do, what we believe, who we live with, who we go out with.' Of the newspaper, the full title of which as printed was DIASPORA Women of Colour Defining Our World, the founders have written, 'Our diversity and richness will brighten these pages because we are writing from viewpoints you have never read in the Voice, the Guardian, The Mirror or the Independent. Diaspora is unique. Every woman who works on the paper writes for it and makes her own decision on exactly what she wants to contribute. We will be writing about anything we are interested in and not just about what society says is a ''Black women's issue''.'
